#missionyummymummy march challenge day 4 and 5

Day 4 of my march challenge to do exercise everyday. I woke up really sore and achy from Zumba the day before and my arm will still heavy from all the tennis and boxing on day 2. I though it would be best to give my upper body a bit of a rest since I was in a lot of pain and don't want to give up my challenge before its really kicked in.

It was my little family's day off yesterday so we decided to go for a long adventure walk around Heaton park, I thought this would properly be the best way to exercise also giving my Upper body a rest. We definitely used our legs 3 hours in the park of constant walking and exploring looking out for different wildlife that lives in the park, chasing a 2 year old and finding our way around from getting lost in a park we go to more than 10 times a year, a park we got married in ha ha ha. I definitely got a good work out round the park and slept well afterwards too.

Day 5 of my challenge, since I became a football widow for the evening I didn't find it that difficult to fit my 30 minuets in. While tea was cooking in the oven I jumped on to the wii board and did 30 minuets of free steps while listing to my iPod. I had madonna imacuale collection on and I was well and truly getting into the groove ( sorry I couldn't help it) before I knew it 30 minuets was up and my challenge for the day was down and I got to avoid the football whoop lot of bonuses.

#missionyummymummy day 3 of challenge

Day 3 of my march challenge was one of my best diet days of the week so far. My sister in law was coming for tea so I decided to push the boat out and make a 3 course meal, slimming world friendly of course.

I already knew for main I was making a roast chicken Sunday lunch with lots of veg but starter and desert I'm was unsure off so looked at all the tools available to get some idea.

I decided on sweet potato and parsnip soup for starter - no bread roll, due to the starter not having any super free food in i made sure I had a lots of super free food in my main and for dessert I found a receipt for an 8 syn chocolate cake with white chocolate frosting. I decided to make into cupcakes making in only 3 syns and had it with lots of strawberries and raspberries.

The whole meal went down well exempt the cake my sister in law isn't very tactful and made her feeling very clear on the cake which obviously is a sort of substitute for the original but diet friendly - wen she was ranting on about how disgusting she thought it was i thought cheeky sod she could have lied and said she was full.

Anyway back to the exercise my plan was to do a DVD when baby peacock was napping but my plans went up in smoke when he decided to fall asleep while I was in the supermarket getting all the supplies for tea..... Nothing ever goes to plan when children are involved. So Due to my original plan being scrapped I had to think of another one so while hubby was driving my sister in law home I decide to do Zumba on the wii. Now I have never done Zumba in my life and have never even put the Zumba game on before so I had no idea what I was getting into.

After choosing the easy option I was all set to start..... Oh my days i have no rhythm, I struggled to keep up but kept moving all the same just maybe not like what I was supposed to be copying. I definitely got a sweat on and can see why its so good for you as it works your whole body I am very sore and achy this morning. I just hope practice makes perfect with the moves.

So day 3 of my march challenge.....

DONE!

Lets see what today brings.

#missionyummymummy march challenge day 2

Today I have found it the hardest to try and fit exercise in. I was in work all day and ended up staying behind late. my 2 year old got over excited that we were all home together so bedtime was eventful and to top it off I was absolutely shattered.

Do you know what???? I did it any way I just found another way.

me and hubby sat on the sofa after tea moaning there was nothing on the tele and I kept saying I need to complete my challenge we both decided to get on the wii and have a tennis match. This got us off our bums and onto our feet and moving.

After a few tennis matches to warm us up we got competitive and moved on to boxing. This is where we really got going. As the matches progressed we really started getting a sweat on and with every hit the more it spired us on. I can definitely say this was a good work out due to the fact my whole body ached once our second boxing match was over. We really went for it putting our whole body into trying to beat the other.

As a warm down we decided to each take the fitness test. I am 5 months older than daddy peacock so was pleased my fitness result age was lower than his.......

He got 84........ I got....68. We're both 28 so lots of work to be had there.

Over all after a few games of tennis and 2 games of boxing with 3 rounds in each one that took us way over 30 minuets and you know what I really enjoyed it. it was so much more fun than I would of had just sitting there moaning.... Which might I add is something 1. I Love doing and 2. Im very good at.

Some might think that this doesn't sound like exercise but the idea is to get me moving move which this definitely did. It gotta heart rate up and my body Woking hard which I do believe qualifies. Anything a got to be better than just sitting in my bum.

Tomorrow is my day off and I plan to do a fitness DVD during baby peacocks nap. I've dug out a rosemary Connelly DVD so lets see if my plan pans out.

Now to end the night a few slow and steady games of bowling. Since I lost every game me and daddy peacock played I'm hoping to win at least a game of bowling. Xxx

#missionyummymummy march challenge day 1 done!

Today marked the first day off my march challenge to do at least 30 minuets of exercise a day.

First day complete!

I took my little man swimming and with him holding on to my back I managed to get a few length in, which he loved until he wanted to try himself so i was back playing following the leader, it was a start. We also walked to the sports village and back but as I said in a previous blog I tend to do a lot of walking anyway.

The main part of my exercise was 30 minuets on the wii fit plus. I stepped, I hula hoop, I jogged, I cycled and I even did some maths all while having my iPod in listening to the dirty dancing sound track.

I did feel good on completion and looking forward to what the rest of the month brings. Zumba, fitness dvd, power walks....... We will see.

#missionyummymummy time to set myself a challenge

There is one huge thing lacking from my mission to become a yummy mummy and that's exercise. I'm always blogging, moaning and writing about how much I need to up my exercise in order to not only get get fit but help me lose weight to meet my mission.

I have quite an active life I work on my feet, I have an active 2 year old and I do lots of walking to get to places but because I've always done this I don't think it has any effect on me or my diet since my body is use to it now.

Due to the weather being so nice yesterday morning i had a spring in my step and was definitely in a happier mood. so when i left the house to walk to the bus stop I decided to do a bit of a power walk, holding my tummy in and standing taller I picked up the pace swinging my strong arms. I reached the bus stop which is usually a 20 minuet walk away in 15 minuets feeling really good ( the endorphins must have kicked in)

This got me thinking I only need to add a little bit of exercise a day to start me off so I have set myself a challenge......... For the whole of march I'm going to add some form of exercise to my day and document it in my blog, this will hopefully keep me on track and make me stick to it.

The rules

•I must do some form of exercise at least once a day for the month of march.

• every day activities and thing that I do already can not be classed as exercise for this challenge I.e hoovering the house etc

•the exercise must be 30 minuets or more.

•everyday must be documented on mummypeacock if I do or do not do the challenge for that day.

•no excuses

•no cheating

•try new things

•target to loose at least 10lb by the end of the challenge

•challenge runs from 1st march- 31st march.

I'm hoping that by doing this challenge it will not only give my fitness and weight loss a boost but also get me ready for the 30 day shred I have bought and have yet to take out the packet.

Well that's the rules and the challenge sorted now time to get started.

Wish me luck xxx

The futures bright for our little dude.

Baby peacock had a rocky start to life, I had to have an emergency section which involved me having to be put to sleep, Baby peacock had to be given a lot of oxygen to help him breath than when we though all the drama was over 9 hours after birth baby peacock had to be taken down to scbu because he was struggling to breath and was turning blue.

What should have been the most happiest time in our lives was the scariest at 9hours old we were told that baby peacock had, had a cardic arrest......there was a long pause before we were told he pulled though. We were all transferred to a specialist hospital where baby peacock or the best treatment and as quick as he got poorly he was getting better. After 13 days and a transfer back to the hospital baby peacock was born in we were allowed home not before we were told that this time baby peacock was being treated for suspected meningitis not just an infection we were lead to believe and it was the receptionist that informed us.

Since than baby peacock has had to have brain scans, lots of hearing test and specialist appointments. If he was ill I had to take him to a&e because normal doctors wouldn't see him while he was under one of the top specialist children's doctor. All the appointments where mainly because baby peacocks brain was starved of oxygen was so long they were worried he may have delayed development.

Well despite such a rocky start baby peacock has one from strength to streaky with his learning and development he was assessed at 2 and a half to 3 years at his 2 year assessment. He can count to 10 On his own and he can actually count how many items he has I.e 3 cars etc as long as it doesn't go past 10. His coming out with more words every days and putting more and more sentences together we can actually have mini conversations with him. He come such a long way and for every mile stone he approached he met them head on so all our worry was for no reason, he showed us.

On Friday baby peacock had his 6 monthly appointment with his specialist. Being the little star he is he shone bright during his appointment showing the dr how smart and sociable he is. Talking and singing, smiling and laughing. the doctor was so impressed he has finally discharged us from the hospital as he said baby peacock has developed better than he could imagine. This was the same doctor that was caring for baby peacock while he had his cardic arrest. He was there for the worst and now he seem how far he has come he was also proud of our little man. Due to his connection he gave us his number and said he would be more than happy to see baby peacock if we ever had any concerns he would be happy to help.

With this excellent news we celebrated by having KFC ( not good for mission yummy mummy but is a favourite of my boys ) and a trip to Heaton park. The weather may have been freezing but we wrapped up warm and had a good walk/ run about. We even got to feed the pigs who where aptly named Derek ad Rodney trotter. We fed them bananas with the permission of the farm keepers. It was lovely to hear Baby peacock tell daddy "pig eating nana with skin on". It was a lovely day.

This means now our little dude can be treated medically like any normal child, it means no more appointment to be Messed and prodded at. It's also a new chapter in his life. He has nothing to proof now he's a happy normal little boy who just had a rocky start to life.

#missionyummymummy cooking up a storm

Me and my little dude are on a day off today and I've decided we will be cooking up a slimming world storm in the kitchen. The reason for this is to help me keep on track, I'm always complaining life gets in the way of my mission to be a yummy mummy so I'm forward planning to overcome any problems I May invent to make this week go belly up.

Today I'm planing on making
•speed food soup
•sw cheese scones
• mushy pea curry
•Mexican Tex mex bean chilli
•2 syn mug cake

I'm hoping this will also free up some time for me to start exercising something I've
Been saying I'm going to do ever since I started this journey. Daddy peacocks working 3 days of 12 hours shift so once I've got baby peacock in bed i can do a bit on the wii as tea is already made.

I'm also become a bit obsessed with eating out at work mainly out of laziness which is not only costing me a fortune I'm also sabotaging my slimming world progress. I'm making a huge pan of super speed soup and slimming world scones today to not only keep me on track but also give my loss a boast. A bonus Is this soup will also ensure baby peacock gets lots of veg In his growing body too..... He loves his mummy's soups and sw scones.

As for the mug cake well that's a little treat for me and my little dude its only 2 syns and I've never made it before and have been dying to try it. I've go some frozen berries defrosting to so with it.

Since the sun is shining I think a nice walk to the park is also on the cards for us...... The sun always makes for a happy day
